The Rev. Phyllis L. Stutzman began serving Emporia Presbyterian Church in September 2015. Pastor Phyl is a graduate of Truman State University and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and was ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament (Teaching Elder) in the Presbyterian Church (USA) in 2006. She has served churches in Missouri, Texas, Kansas, and Oklahoma, regularly serves on presbytery level committees, and currently sits on the board of The Young Clergy Women Project, an ecumenical, international organization that seeks to support young women in ordained ministry across denominational lines. Together, Pastor Phyl and her husband, Jacob, are routinely active in interfaith community building and ecumenical work and, as life-long Midwesterners, are thrilled to be back in Kansas raising their family.
