Rev. Phyllis Stutzman

The Rev. Phyllis L. Stutzman began serving Emporia Presbyterian Church in September 2015. Pastor Phyl is a graduate of Truman State University and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, was ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament (Teaching Elder) in the Presbyterian Church (USA) in 2006, has served churches in Missouri, Texas, Kansas, and Oklahoma, and has served on the board of Young Clergy Women International, an ecumenical, international organization that seeks to support young women in ordained ministry across denominational lines. She is also active in service to the larger church through her work on presbytery and synod level committees, local community boards, and engagement with civic organizations. Together, Pastor Phyl and her husband, Jacob, are routinely active in interfaith community building and ecumenical work and, as life-long Midwesterners, are thrilled to be back in Kansas raising their family.
